Messenger of the gods, alchemist, doctor, and trickster, Hermes, also known to the Romans as Mercury, is a deity of ceremonial magicians. He rules all aspects of communication, the mastery of science, the construction of magical tools, and arts of illusion.

My Hermes oil is the same formula as Mercury. Only the label, your preference of what to call him is different.

Mercury/Hermes, in addition to being the god of communication, rules all matters of commerce and travel. He bears the healing wand, the Cadduceus, and is therefore the patron of all doctors and healers. Mercury/Hermes governs all fields of study, scholarship, intellectual pursuits, and writings. Hermes also helps the souls of the dead to find their way into the Underworld, so he is a psycho pomp. His mother was the Pleiadean Maia, and his father was Zeus. On his first day of life, he invented the lyre, so I suppose that would make him the god of music as well. By night, he stole Apollo’s cattle (now he is god of all thieves) and then successfully bargained with Apollo to keep them, trading just his Lyre for the transaction.

Mercury gives his name to the planet closest to the Sun. Mercury’s quick transit across the Heavens and infamous “retrograde” direction reversals give this planet the messenger correspondence to this god.

Hermes oil has one ingredient sacred to him, Storax, which does not blend with the other essential and base oils, but its flowing motion at the bottom of the bottle reminds one of the motion of the liquid metal mercury in a test tube. Hermes is of course only made on Wednesdays in the Waxing Moon, and is *never* formulated during a Mercury retrograde. (Leave that for Loki!) It has a very mentally stimulating, alert smell. Use it to attract any of Hermes’ many powers to yourself, or anoint an orange candle to invoke the Messenger God for ceremonial magic.

Natural Magick deity oils are made with reverence and research to be pleasing devotional blends for the gods and goddesses they are named for. I research legend and lore, and try to use oils of plants that grew in the lands where the deity originated or rules. The Natural Magick process of using planetary and elemental influences, correspondence, and high quality ingredients is especially appropriate for honoring the gods and bringing their qualities into our lives.

Anoint yourself to attune to these deities, or pour into offering bowls or aromatherapy lamps, or anoint statues or fetish objects. I love to give them to priests or priestesses who run open circles or invoke our patron gods and goddesses.

These oils are in beautiful round 1/2 ounce bottles, blended in 100% fractionated coconut oil, so with any care they should last a very long time. They are priced according to the ingredients requested by the gods."
