Nuit oil

Nut, Nunut, Nenet or Not is an Egyptian goddess of the night sky. With her consort Geb, she is the mother of some of the greatest of Egyptian deities including Isis, Osirus, Set and Nephthys. Nuit oil is the same formulation as our Star Goddess and The Star oil. It would be appropriate anointing oil for practitioners of Thelema, who hold Nuit as a primordial goddess. Use it to remind yourself that “Every Man and Woman is a Star."

I research legend and lore, and try to use oils of plants that grew in the lands where the deity originated or rules. We believe that Nuit is the same deity as "Star Goddess" who is revered in the Feri tradition. Star Goddess is the initiation point for all things, the beginning of time and the universe, as well as the end of it all.

Star Goddess is best encapsulated in the beautiful Wiccan devotional prayer penned by Doreen Valiente, Charge of the Goddess. “From me all things proceed, and unto me all things must return; and before my face, beloved of Gods and of men, let thine innermost divine self be enfolded in the rapture of the infinite.” This is the starry transcendence that I attempt to capture in this oil, which includes starry glitter to contrast against the midnight blue color that Blue Tansy essential oil gives to it. It smells cold, mysterious, comforting and twinkling, if you can imagine that. This lovely Star Goddess oil is dedicated to my dear co-priestess friend, Amy “Starr“ Benton.
