Octopus oil attempts to channel the mystery, intelligence and fluid grace of this most enigmatic creature of the Sea. The ingredients (eight of them of course) are chosen to reflect the chameleon abilities of Octopus, its capability for communication, and of course the ink to conceal a quick getaway.
Octopuses are highly intelligent, with great problem-solving capabilities and their communication by color and gesture that is certainly language. I and many others believe that they are clearly sentient beings, and definitely should not be killed and eaten. Octopuses are people, y'all!
With a magick number of eight, and the mischievous intelligence of the Trickster, Octopus is clearly a creature of Mercury, and so is made on Wednesdays. Because of its cryptic nature and powers, Octopus oil will be made on the Dark or New Moon. Octopus is an Elemental Animal of Water. The fragrance is dark and soothingly spooky, with a lead note of precious deep Blue Tansy to code for the darkness of the depths of the Sea. The inky blue pigment in this oil would definitely stain clothing, but is safe to wear on the skin.
